Experience

Over 40 years in the power generation sector, with experience in operations, maintenance, and project management - first in nuclear plants then CCGT plants, covering erection, start-up and commercial operation phases. In 1998 was awarded an MBA (with Distinction) by the University of Hull, UK.

Senior power plant management positions were held in Bahrain, Argentina, and Spain. This included both Mobilisation and Commercial Operation phases. An extended period was spent in power generation for the aluminium smelting industry - a cost based industry where very high reliability and availability combined with low cost is vital.

As Director of Generation at ALSTOM Power O&M, Baden, Switzerland, from February 2002 until November 2005, was responsible for:

- Worldwide on-site activities (total generating capacity approx 20GW), ensuring the expected value was provided to customers and that the activities were carried out with the necessary controls in place.

- O&M strategy, ensuring full O&M policy deployment worldwide, and review and development of the offered portfolio of services in line with market needs.

A key milestone was establishment of consistent standards across all power plants, using a global management system that also allowed worldwide ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification.
